The program provides students with the knowledge and skills to conduct quality research in various aspects of information management. Research methodology and thesis writing courses are also provided to assist students in their research work. At the end of the program, students are required to produce a thesis on a topic of their choice. The topics should be related to the fields of Information Management, Library Management, Knowledge Management or Records Management.

2. Generate Information Management effective solutions  using scientific research methods  and critical thinking skills.
3. Manifest practical and theoretical skills to formulate hypothesis, design theoretical model  and conduct scientific research to  solve observed phenomena specific  to information management fields.
4. Demonstrate the ability to  apply interpersonal skills throughout data gathering process in order to  yield meaningful results .
5. Ability to communicate effectively the report of findings,  recommendations for solutions and  rationale of study, not only among  the experts in the field of information  management but also with the public.
6. Demonstrate good application of digital skills in managing research data.
7. Ability to analyze, capitalize and interpret the quantitative and  qualitative data.
8. Demonstrate leadership  qualities through formal and informal  communication with peers and  experts in the related fields.
